Shaker historic site and museum. Agricultural Tourism. Farmstead with live animals, apple picking and gift shop open to visitors. The month-long, Pic-n-Picnic starts around the 2nd week of September. Pick your own apples and have a picnic with the family on the hilltop of Alasa Farms.

Cracker Box Palace is a registered non-profit farm haven in Alton, NY. It is a unique place in Wayne County where farm animals of every kind come to recover from illness, neglect or abuse. Some of our residents come here due to family deaths, or because their owners can no longer give them the care they need.  Once the animals are given necessary adjustment time and veterinary care, they become available for new people to love through adoption or a unique foster care program.   Tours are available by appointment and family events are held through-out the year.

Sodus Bay Lighthouse & Museum

Sodus Bay Historical Lighthouse & Maritime Museum in Sodus Point, NY 7806 N. Ontario St., Sodus Point, NY
Phone: (315) 483-6777
Website: www.soduspointlighthouse.org

The Museum is a well preserved and authentic example of Lighthouse construction in the early 1900's. Its stone structure is unchanged from its 1870 beginnings, and the entire lighthouse reflects its look in 1910 on the outside.

The Major attraction for many of our visitors is the climb of the circular stairs which lead to the lens room at the top of the lighthouse tower. From this vantage point, about 70 feet above the waters of the lake, a spectacular view of the Sodus Point Piers and the Bluffs of the Shore on Lake Ontario to the Northeast is presented.

Our Museum has a small, but tastefully stocked Gift Shop located just off the front entry room of the Lighthouse. It has a pleasing selection of clothing and collectible items with maritime flavors. We also have an extensive offering of historical books on maritime, lighthouse, and local history. Our shop also features drawings, paintings, reproductions, and maps of the Sodus Bay Area.

Overlooking Lake Ontario, we are located in Wayne County 1/2 mile from the Chimney Bluffs State Park. To our west is Sodus Bay, and to the east is East Bay. Here the two of us tend 3 acres of vineyards from which we produce our wines in large part by handwork, with some grapes also brought in from the Finger Lakes. The selection of our fine wines extends from classic European varietals to foxy New World blends, a taste for everyone.
